Our Daily Routine
A typical day at OAK TREE Club starts at 2:30pm with our younger Manzanita students checking in and having some free time to unwind after school. Activities like creek play, art, and manipulatives are available. We use a “Helper’s Chart” to promote leadership and self-sufficiency, allowing students to take on helper jobs focused on responsibility and care for our space.
Healthy nutrient dense snacks are provided by School Of Lunch. Food is local, organic and fresh from the farmers themselves. The students’ imagination gets engaged with our “Question of the Day” which often are child-led and full of surprises.
Then, we practice a hands-on “mindful moment” through breath awareness using a breath ball & a bell, as well as mind-body exercises. Storytime under the Oak tree is a precious moment of connection amongst students, peers and staff. We welcome children to share their favorite books from home and welcome all stories of significance & interest. We also introduce basic French words.
Later, we welcome older students and head to the day’s main activity led by one of our team members. Our daily curriculum includes homework help, mindfulness, community building, as well as socio-emotional connection through council & discussions. Students enjoy social time, team-building games, council, various sports & crafts.
While we follow a foundational schedule, we maintain flexibility in the program to adapt to students’ interests, energy levels, and weather conditions. Our activities take place on an expansive outdoor campus, providing a clean environment for exploration and connection with nature. We also have a cozy indoor classroom available for students during inclement weather.
Music & Movement

Dates: Aug. 25, 2025 – June 1, 2026
Day(s): Mondays
Time: 2:30-5:00pm

In our Music & Movement class, students explore rhythm, voice, and musical instruments as tools for expression, presence, and collaboration. Led by experienced musicians and educators, this offering blends joyful group practice with individual support, helping children develop musical skills while also learning to listen — to themselves and to one another.
Students are introduced to instruments and musical traditions from around the world, including percussion, strings, wind, keyboards, sound bowls, and bells. Along the way, they discover the cultural roots of each instrument, the basics of music theory, and how to build harmony through shared practice.
We invite and encourage students to bring their own instruments, and we create opportunities for them to record and reflect on their musical growth over time.

We’ll learn safe practices around horses, direct interaction techniques, and maintain a reciprocal presence. Activities will include leading horses and learning about horse anatomy, colors, breeds, and health.
